Commande possible d'un noble de la maison des Sande, à en juger par le blason de cette famille noble sur la façade et avec des caractéristiques bien marquées du rococo du règne de D. Maria I (1777-1816). La chapelle fait partie de l'ancien manoir des capitaines en chef du village de Veiros et possède une maison adjacente, actuellement occupée par la fondation Asilo de Nossa Senhora do Perpetoo Socorro, en cours de réaménagement radical.

La façade est notoirement une fusion de styles rococo et néoclassique, interprétation conforme à l'esthétique de l'époque de ladite reine.
À l'intérieur aussi, le rococo est très clair, en particulier dans le retable au fond du presbytère, dans la deuxième partie du navire. Au-dessus de l'autel se trouvent deux anges du même style, enveloppés dans des ramagens, des guirlandes et tenant un paquet de coquillages indiquant la date de 1795.
