Conosciuto come San Pedro de Fora, il primo riferimento alla sua esistenza, secondo Tulio Espanca, data del 1320. Un altro riferimento è noto dal 1342, quando il vescovo di Évora, D. Martin, crea due posizioni Porcionários a Evoramonte.
Durante il terremoto 1531, questo tempio è molto interessata e ha subito un importante restauro nel XVI secolo e la riapertura delle porte al culto già nel 1534.
Il tetto viene recuperato nel 1929 e nel 1959, molto al gusto del tempo, eliminando gli archi in gesso delle navate e presbiterio mettere granito visibile pietra.

La chiesa, a pianta rettangolare e a tre navate, ha una facciata cinquecentesca. Da notare nella facciata è un interessante segno di Salomone in marmo. L'interno presenta ancora arcaria ogivale nelle navi e nel presbiterio.
Nel cimitero adiacente alla chiesa, che ha anche esistito nella chiesa originaria, non ci sono state trovare diverse a basso medievale stele, la maggior parte di essi esposti presso il Museo Prof. Joaquim rosso.
