Pisac is famous for three reasons, the first of which is; its craft fairs, the second; its Sunday masses, which are celebrated in Quechua and are accompanied by the sound of pututos (marine snail cornet; which is inherited from generation to generation), and finally; barter is used as a means of payment.

Pisac, a town that is 33 kilometers from the city of Cusco, is the obligatory entry for all those who wish to enter and immerse themselves in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Taking advantage of the flourishing tourism, the villagers offer their products in a festive artisan fair every Sunday throughout the year.

Thus, this Sunday market is actually a tourist magnet and also, a cultural center where artisans and peasants from different surrounding communities arrive where Inca elements such as looms, vessels, silver jewelry, bulls from Pucará among other precious elements are offered.

In this way, the settlers offer their products in the same way that their ancestors did through the barter or exchange of products, which is done in a festive way as all Andean fairs work.

Before making a purchase at craft fairs, it is preferable to haggle with vendors in order to obtain better prices.
