Florianópolis' main postcard was built in 1926. At 819 meters long and towers measuring 75 meters above sea level, Hercílio Luz is one of the largest suspension bridges in the world. Closed since 1982 for car and pedestrian traffic, the work is listed as a Historic and Artistic Heritage. At the insular head it houses a gazebo, the Ponte Museum and the Parque da Luz.
