Het eiland bestaat uit stranden met uitzicht op de Ria Formosa en met uitzicht op zee. Het heeft een camping en verhuur hutten, en het is ook mogelijk om privé-huizen te huren. Er zijn ook verschillende restaurants, in de buurt van de pier, sommige met familietraditie, die van generatie op generatie worden doorgegeven.
De nautische sportliefhebbers vinden ook in Armona een goede plek om ze te oefenen. Kanovaren, zeilen en duiken zijn slechts enkele voorbeelden. Recreatieve visserij is ook behoorlijk populair.
In aanvulling op het bewoonde deel van het eiland, is er een wilder gedeelte, waar u bijvoorbeeld kameleons en andere exemplaren van de lokale fauna kunt vinden.
Armona-eiland is een van de meest rustige en karakteristieke plaatsen van het badseizoen.
