Fort de Meia Praia, également connu sous le nom de Fort S. Roque, bien que son véritable patron soit S. José, est une construction d'architecture maniériste qui obéit aux nouvelles caractéristiques de l'artillerie. Plan d'étage avec rampe d'accès à la terrasse. Intégré au réseau de forteresses côtières construites à l'ouest et à l'est de la ville de Lagos pour contenir le harcèlement constant de la côte par les pirates et les corsaires.
À Lagos.
Aujourd'hui, situé au milieu de la baie de Lagos, il remonte à la seconde moitié du XVIIe siècle, révélant une fonction complémentaire par rapport au fort dispositif militaire de la ville de Lagos.
