It is a Roman-Gothic style building, its construction may have occurred during the second half of the century. XIII, presenting a rectangular plan, with a single nave, and walls supported by powerful buttresses.
The cover is of empty tile, with two waters, having gargoyles. The front has an ogival door, with capitals decorated by strings and a human face, topped by a rose window.
The chancel is covered by a ribbed vault, with two finials, supported by pointed arches that rest on eight lateral columns with capitals. These are ornamented in the Romanesque manner with branches, foliage, shells and human and animal representations. The back wall is ripped open by a round arch window. Also noteworthy are the triumphal arch and the side columns of the chancel, in different colored sandstone.
This Chapel, resisted the 1755 earthquake, thus became a rare example of medieval art in a region where few monuments of this type managed to survive. This religious building is the oldest that is preserved in this area of the Western Algarve.
Chapel located about 2 km to the east, Raposeira.
It constituted a place of worship for Infante D. Henrique.
