Adrogué is the host city of the party Admiral Brown, a city in Greater Buenos Aires located 23 km south of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
With just over 30,000 inhabitants, it is basically a quaint residential area, with cobbled streets, leafy trees and numerous squares. It also has a major shopping center, where there are numerous businesses, restaurants and banks.
Adrogué was created with an advanced urban concept for the time. The diagonals, squares and boulevards were incorporated, cutting with the hitherto traditional Spanish model. This project served as a backdrop for the founding of the city of La Plata.
Adrogué has a second private cultural center (which includes a theater), a library and a ten-movie complex located on Boulevard Shopping, a mall opened in 1996.
The writer Jorge Luis Borges dedicated to this city a book of poetry for the years of his childhood (Adrogué, 1977). The relationship between Borges and Adrogué was very special. The city was a source of inspiration for several works by the famous writer, always in love with the tree-lined streets of the city. Borges also stated that it was in Adrogué where football was first played in Argentina. In the mall is the Borges square.
