The word fiesta, which so well rhymes with Northeast, finds synonymous in the capital of Sergipe. Held in the second half of June, Forró Caju gathers thousands of tourists who arrive attracted by the largest event in the region.
Typical traditions are also maintained in the historic cities of São Cristóvão and Laranjeiras, less than 30 kilometers from Aracaju and that hold colonial architectural jewels, as well as folkloric festivals. Also on the outskirts of the capital is one of the most beautiful scenery in the state - the Xingó Gorge, scattered on board schooners and catamarans that cut the green waters of the São Francisco River.
If the desire to plunge into a blue sea persists, Mangue Seco - the Bahia village is about a hundred kilometers from Aracaju.
