How to get
Access to Puyuhuapi is via Carretera Austral, a road over 1200 km between the Lakes Region and Aysén in Chilean Patagonia. Considered one of the greatest proud of Chilean engineering, this route requires tourist care such as renting a 4 × 4 car and reduced speed.
The Aysén region's main airport is in Balmaceda, 55 km from Coyhaique, the capital of the region, and receives Lan and Sky flights from Porto Montt.
By sea aboard Naviera Austral ships to Puerto Chacabuco, located 82 km from Coyhaique, and Navimag, whose main destination is Laguna San Rafael, from Porto Montt and connecting to Puerto Chacabuco.
