Galicia
Galicia or Galicia is an autonomous community in north-west Spain, comprising the provinces of a Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra, being delimited by Portugal to the south, with the Spanish autonomous communities of Castile and Leon and Asturias to the east, with the Atlantic Ocean , to the west and to the north.
Galicia has more than 1,660 km (1,030 miles) of coastline, including its islands and islets, among them the Islands Cies, Ons, Sálvora, Cortegada, and the largest and most populated island of Arousa.
Galicia is known in Spain as the "land of a thousand rivers". The rivers cross the entire mountain region from the interior to the coast, where they form "Rias" characteristics.
The coast itself offers great contrasts, from flat beaches "As Mariñas" to the dangerous cliffs of "Costa de la Muerte".

You can visit its numerous charming villages, both on the seafront and inland, and cities such as Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Ferrol, Lugo, Orense, Pontevedra and Vigo.
Its many monuments such as the Tower of Hercules or the walls of the city of Lugo, are both a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For those in sport, there are golf courses, marine resorts as options to choose from.
