Iceland
Iceland is a Nordic European island country situated in the North Atlantic Ocean. Its territory covers the homonymous island and some small islands in the Atlantic Ocean, located between continental Europe and Greenland. Its capital and largest city is Reykjavik, whose metropolitan area houses about two-thirds of the national population. Due to its location on the mid-Atlantic ridge, Iceland has a large volcanic activity and an important geothermal gradient, which greatly affects its landscape. The interior consists mainly of a plateau characterized by sand fields, mountains and glaciers. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, Iceland has a temperate climate compared to its latitude and offers a livable environment.

Iceland's coastline climate is subpolar oceanic, meaning it has fresh, short summers and mild winters with temperatures that do not drop below -3 ° C. Temperatures in the country are relatively mild compared to other regions at the same latitude. The Gulf's maritime current, which is a flow of hot water from Central America to northern Europe, makes temperatures warmer and winters less severe.
